School is going and we are busy

The Fall Summit will be held at FUMC Mansfield on September 6 from 9:00 am until 3:00 p.m. The subject of this Fall’s summit is Ministries with Young Adults. Churches express concern about not having any young adults as a part of their fellowship. This is an opportunity to do something about it. To date there has been no response through the church office. If you are interested in attending this event, please contact Pastor Eddie immediately. Beginnings: An Introduction to Christian Faith will begin on September 7. You received info in last month’s newsletter. Announcements have been made for several weeks during worship. Sermons have had this chance to witness as their theme during the month of August. Those in worship have received “business card invites” that they can share with people they know. Last Sunday and next Sunday door hangers with information about Beginnings will be available for distribution in your neighborhood. This 12 week series will be held Sunday evenings from 6-8. A meal will be provided. If you would like to help with providing a meal, please call Adra in the church office (646-4548). If you would like to participate in these sessions, loaner student books are available.

We need to begin on a new pictorial directory. Feedback has revealed no interest in receiving free directories from the various companies that provide that service. The plan is to use a software package from Communication Resource to assist in publishing our own directory for both churches. We will take pictures at the church most likely before and after worship. They will be quick poses taken with a digital camera. This should not require a great deal of time. Help will be needed in taking photos, gathering correct information, typing the directory and publishing the books. If you can contribute to this effort, please call Adra in the mornings, Monday through Thursday.
